Because I Can . . .

I've been busy working on a painting lately, which is why I haven't written anything in here for a while. It seems I missed a lot of action from what I've read. I'm glad I wasn't sent back to boyhood. Once was enough, thanks.

As I was reading through the various entries lately, it made me curious. Some of you seem to be very comfortable chatting with Sir Gryffindor and Lord Slytherin and have even visited them.

How can you do that? Just thinking of being in the same room with them blows my mind. It must be quite a trip to speak with people who lived so long ago. Could you ask them if they wanted to 'nip 'round the corner for a pint,' or is there a definite separation there?

Talk about crazy.

There's a certain 'let-down,' I guess you'd call it, after the holidays pass.
But then again, the start of a new year is like a clean slate just waiting to be written on.

I wonder what this year will scribe onto the pages of our lives.

I can't believe another Yule season is almost here.
Time flies.

Still, since this journal has put me in touch with some new people, and I've learned that I have relatives I've not yet met, I'm sending out some gifts.

Tonight's gig went well. I'm in my 'no-talk' mode now. It keeps my voice intact. So now speaking for me until I get onstage tomorrow night. That's an advantage to these journals. I can still keep in touch with people and not worry about straining my voice.

I've met some interesting people - incliuding Gellert Grindelwald. He's seems like an agreeable chap. I also met a witch named Rose Zeller, who's a friend of Lucius'.
And Albus Dumbledore is here as well.

His was the only class I enjoyed at Hogwarts.

What a strange place this afterlife is.

Lucius is here. So is Voldemort, who told me Lucius had joined him. Why would he do that?
It's not as if 'Riddle' was a Pureblood name.

Did my actions drive him to it?

A journal? What's the point of a journal here? Why did I just find this now, when I've been here for years?
Granted, it's a really nice shade of royal blue.

I suppose I can use it to jot down thoughts, notes, inspirations for songs.
It's always great to have paper handy, just in case inspiration strikes.

Still, it's odd. If I have a diary, that must mean that others have them as well.
I'd rather not think about that.
