| Bio: |  BACKGROUND Basics Name: Abraxas Aurelius Malfoy Date of Birth: December 1, 1923 Age and Date of Death: Was 51 when he died on June 29, 1975 Manner of Death: Died from Dragon Pox Patronus: A peacock House: Slytherin Wand: 7.5" oak with unicorn tail-hair core Bloodline: Pureblood Positions: Held a seat on the Governing Board of Hogwarts until his death, financial patron of St. Mungo's Hospital, was politically influential in various spheres, including several departments in the Ministry of Magic. Relatives: Cybele Malfoy (nee Prewett), wife, Lucius Abraxas Malfoy (son), Draco Malfoy (grandson), Narcissa Malfoy (nee Black), daughter-in-law Brief Life History Abraxas was an only child. Though he wanted to be an artist, and even took lessons in piano, violin, and painting throughout his childhood and adolescence, his familial duties prevented him from following such an 'inappropriate' career path. At Hogwarts, Abraxas demonstrated his intelligence by excelling in Transfiguration, but he did not apply himself much to his studies in other subjects, since he understood that his life's path was essentially set for him at birth. As per the arrangement decided between his parents and the parents of Cybele Prewett, Abraxas married her on June 20, 1944, when he was 20 years old. Their marriage appeared from the outside to be a successful one, but it was a charade. They had separate bedrooms and essentially separate lives. He busied himself with business and politics, while she became an important figure in social circles. On November 18, 1953, Abraxas learned that Cybele had been having an adulterous affair for years. It enraged him to think that he had had to give up his dreams and lived monogamously in a loveless marriage while she made a mockery of their vows and acted as she pleased with no thought of the consequences. It led to a vicious argument between them, and Cybele attempted to leave the manor to join her lover. The scandal would have ruined the family's reputation, so Abraxas Stunned her, which sent her into premature labour. Though the son was healthy, Cybele was barren as a result of the curse. From that point on, Abraxas regarded Lucius with some suspicion. He couldn't cast Paternity Charms himself, and he didn't want to risk exposing the family to scandal by asking someone else to cast the spell for him, so he kept his distance from Lucius. He saw their relationship sour over the years, and recognized Cybele's hand in turning the boy from him, but didn't attempt to tell Lucius anything about that night or his suspicions, torn by guilt at having cast the spell on Cybele. Regardless of the child's paternity, he had lashed out in anger and cast a spell upon a pregnant woman, and that disgusted him. Then, in early 1973, he discovered a phial in a box in a storeroom in the manor. Curious, he looked at the memory and saw Cybele at her mother's home. He watched as the memory played out and Cybele told her mother of her pregnancy and confessed to the affair. Her mother cast a Paternity Charm on her and the spell named Abraxas as the father. Guilt, regret, and remorse shattered Abraxas. He destroyed the memory and fled to his study to numb himself with Firewhiskey. Lucius arrived later and they spoke, but it became apparent to Abraxas that his son was trying to get him to sign over the family fortune to him. He agreed to do so as a way of apologizing for his mistakes without actually talking about it. After the arrangements were finalized, he left Malfoy Manor and England, moving to the continent, where he contracted Dragon Pox and died in June of that year. In the Afterlife, Abraxas follows his childhood dreams and makes his living as a painter, singer and musician. He's currently the frontman of a rock band called 'The Afterlife Express." HOME AND OCCUPATION Setting: The City Occupation: Singer, musician, painter. He's the frontman for the band "The Afterlife Express." Brief description of the character's home: Abraxas lives in a loft apartment, which also serves as his studio, where he paints and writes songs. It's eclecticly furnished with a wide range of Wizard and Muggle pieces of various styles and periods from many different countries, but with an underlying elegant sense of style. DESCRIPTION Specifics Age in the Afterlife 30 Appearance: Approximately 5' 11" tall with a lean build. He has dark blond hair which falls in a wavy mane of loose curls past his shoulders. He has blue-grey eyes. Personality: In private, Abraxas is quiet and creative, but on stage, he transforms into a charismatic frontman. Likes: Travel, cooking, friends, reading, good food and good conversation, performing, painting, being creative. Dislikes: Staid traditionalism, dogmatic thinking. Sexuality: Heterosexual Love Interest: None currently. Was married to Cybele Prewett in life.
